1. Basic information

1.1. You´ll learn Swing, Bluegrass, Old-time, classical technique, musical theory

1.2. Accommodation of attendees is at the Orlice hotel, located directly at the town square of Tyniste nad Orlici. Only registered persons can stay at the hotel, regardless of age.  Roommate requests may be made on the registration form - otherwise, we allocate bed spaces according to age and sex.
Food: All meals will be served at the Orlice hotel restaurant.

1.3. Time schedule: On Monday, the arrival day, the first scheduled event is registration at the Kulturní Dùm („House of culture“) from 10:00 am to 12:00am. Check-in Orlice hotel is possible after the registration . Lunch is served from 11:30 am to 1:30 pm at the Orlice hotel. (The distance between the House of culture and the Orlice hotel is about 150 m). Lessons  start at 2:00 pm and last until 5:00 pm.  Dinner is served at 6:00 pm, and at 8:00 pm the evening program starts. Breakfast will be served from 8:30 am. On Tuesday, Thursday & Friday, there will be two class periods per day (each of them having one 15 min break) from 9 am to 11.30 am and from 2 pm to 5 pm. Evening programs start at 8 pm. On Wednesday the morning class and lunch will be the same as the other days, but there will be no lessons in the afternoon. Instead, we’ll visit a baroque castle and hospital in Kuks. There you will see admirable work of an Italian architect G.B Alliprandi and the sculptures of Mathias Bernard Braun, whose „Bethlehem“ carved out of sandstone rocks is unique in all of Europe. The evening programs mentioned above will contain jam sessions, demonstration of violin construction, and seminars on various topics. On Friday there will be a performance by George Kralik and Rowdy Rascals (the winner of EWOB 2007 at La Roche sur Foron), and teachers and students from the camp.
 
2. What to bring:
2.1.We recommend bringing a recording device to record classes for later study, as well as music (staff) paper and a pencil to make necessary notes.   
NOTE: NO VIDEO TAPING IS ALLOWED AT THE CAMP. DO NOT BRING YOUR VIDEO CAMERA.
2.2. Basic technical assistance for all attendees' instruments will be provided, including simple repairs as well as adjustment and strings replacement. Instruments of younger attendees (under 15) will be  worked on for free—only material cost will be charged.  One of the evening programs will be  devoted to violin design and construction. Attendees will have a chance to see how the instrument is built, including the work process, the disassembled parts of a violin, and tuning of the back and soundboard.

2.3. Attendees who cannot arrive on Monday morning may request an accommodation for Sunday night. For those attendees coming by air to Prague Int. Airport on Sunday, transportation to Týništì nad Orlicí will be organized. (Prices depend on the number of applicants and will be specified on request.)

2.4. Accompanying persons not attending the classes may use their time to visit a lot of historical places located near Tyniste nad Orlicí, like beautiful castles in Castolovice, Rychnov nad Kneznou  and Opocno. The lovely hills of the Orlicke mountains are also not far from the town.

2.5. What does the fee include? All meals, lessons, concerts and seminars in the evening, plus accommodation starting Monday noon. You will also receive musical material for further studies.

Again, accommodation beginning on Sunday evening can be arranged by request.
All attendees must leave the hotel on Saturday morning no later than 10 am.
 
2.6. Level selection
Beginner: Beginning fiddler, any age, with less than 2 years of fiddling experience. Needs slower instruction.
Intermediate: At least 2 years of instruction. Knows less than 20 fiddle tunes, can learn by ear but has no experience with improvisation
Intermediate Classical: Have had Classical instruction, but very little fiddle instruction. Have not had much experience learning by ear or improvising. Does not know many fiddle tunes.
Advanced: Had more than 5 years of fiddling or violin instruction. Knows at least 20 fiddle tunes. Learns quickly by ear and can improvise within tunes
