The CD "Moving On" documents the musical development of Rowdy Rascals. Both in repertoire and style, the original focus was on bluegrass, but over time, has shifted and deviated from the traditional approach of this genre. Elements of classic old-time music and swing started to infiltrate into the musical expression and sound of the band.
This book should not serve as a "text book" of fiddling. It contains the score of the standard and also nonstandard way of performing tunes as they are recorded on the CD "Moving On", along with the texts and chords of the songs. The main purpose of this publication is to offer some phrases to learn, which can be used in your own improvisation, and which can also help to improve your technical skills. The marking of bowings in this book (where presented) are not directive. They offer only one of many possibilities. Therefore, you can use them as guides, as you develop your own bowing style.
